Gallery: Two tailored en-suites for siblings

Designing bathrooms for children often calls for a delicate balance between fun, functionality and future-proofing. In this recently completed project, our designer was tasked with creating two bespoke en-suites for a pre-teen brother and sister - each one as unique as its owner, yet designed to feel part of the same story.

Despite their contrasting looks, the two spaces mirror each other in layout and thoughtful detailing. Both bathrooms are compact yet cleverly configured, offering everything a growing child needs without compromising on style.

In the boy’s en-suite, a cool blue and mint palette sets a calm, fresh tone. Graphic starburst floor tiles add a playful energy, while slim vertical tiles behind the basin provide subtle texture and a sense of height. A walk-in shower with sliding doors maximises space and the mint green fittings inject a pop of personality that feels fun but not faddy. A wall-mounted basin and vanity unit keep the floor clear for easy cleaning - always a win for busy parents.

Next door, the girl’s bathroom takes a softer turn with a pretty pink palette and elegant finishes. The marble-effect walls provide a timeless backdrop, while blush pink hexagon tiles and coordinating sanitaryware bring a sense of fun and flair. A generous bath offers both practicality and indulgence, perfect for wind-down routines or pampering. The rounded countertop basin and ribbed vanity unit create a tactile contrast to the sleek wall surfaces, adding visual interest without clutter.

While each room reflects the child’s personality, they share common threads: wall-mounted furniture to save space, durable finishes designed to grow with the user and playful touches that make bath time something to look forward to. It’s proof that children’s bathrooms can be joyful without being juvenile and functional without being boring.

Whether you're designing for toddlers or teens, these sibling en-suites show how a bit of imagination and the right design expertise can transform even the smallest space into something special.
