Meet the maker: Samuel Heath

In this article we focus on British brand Samuel Heath, to find out more about its history and heritage and what makes its brassware so enduring.

With 200 years’ experience in manufacture and design, Samuel Heath is a leading British brand based in Birmingham. One that combines traditional craftsmanship with advanced production techniques to create innovative and enduring brassware, hardware and accessories. Its collections include basin and bath mixers, showers, ancillaries such as wastes, traps and other essentials along with accessories and finishing touches including towel rings and rails, toilet roll holders and hooks. Many of which are incorporated into Ripples bathrooms to bring quality, longevity and style into every scheme.

The collections

The collections themselves offer something for every bathroom project and every style preference. The One Hundred Collection for instance is where understated elegance meets luxurious appeal with softly curved bath and basin fillers, floor mounted bath/shower mixers and deck mounted diverters in a choice of 12 finishes including brushed gold matt and city bronze.

Landmark Industrial is ideal for urban bathrooms and industrial schemes with precisely machined detailing and a functional feel, while Xenon is pure, simple and bold, perfect for making a statement with minimal fuss. Other collections include Landmark Pure, Style Moderne, Fairfield, Novis and Curzon, each offering something different and unique for any bathroom, cloakroom or en-suite design.

History in the making

Samuel Heath has been in business since 1820. At the time it was just one of hundreds of brass foundaries here in the UK. Now it is one of the remaining few. This family-run business still designs and manufactures from the same Birmingham factory and it prides itself on its foundations of integrity and provenance. Its products are used and enjoyed by homeowners, designers and architects alike and it’s a trusted brand that we at Ripples are immensely proud to work with.

Manufacturing process

With its factory in Birmingham, Samuel Heath is a British brand steeped in heritage. Its collections of classic and contemporary brassware are made from pure solid brass using the latest modern production techniques with a nod to the past thanks to its traditionally honed artisan crafts and skills. Every piece is hand polished for a flawless finish before being electroplated. This blending of the old and new creates a wonderful array of products with quality and longevity, beautiful to look at and a joy to use.

Precision design

Samuel Heath may have a long history but it’s not one to rest on its laurels. As well as its classic collections, the brand is also a pioneer of new movements in bathroom trends. Always innovating, always investing in the latest technology and with the very best designers in its team, Samuel Heath is one of the most imaginative innovators in the industry.

You can see for yourself just how special its products are by taking a look at our real life case studies and inspirational gallery here on our website and on Instagram.
