Celebrity style: Rachel Stevens’ opulent master bathroom

We worked with singer, author, presenter and style icon Rachel Stevens to design a bathroom fit for a star.

Jo, Senior Designer from Ripples London, worked with Rachel to create a stunning space to suit her personal style.

The brief

When Rachel approached Ripples for her bathroom renovation, her vision was clear: timeless elegance with a modern edge, soft textures and tones, and a tranquil feel that would make her bathroom a place to relax, reset and get ready in style. As someone who balances a busy lifestyle in the public eye with the demands of family life, her bathroom needed to be both practical and indulgent - a true sanctuary that felt personal and serene.

The layout

Working with the room’s ‘bijoux’ footprint, the layout was carefully planned to maximise flow and visual balance. The freestanding bath sits perfectly at the far end of the room, framed by a custom arched wall niche that draws the eye and adds architectural character. The vanity unit and WC are positioned next to each other to maintain symmetry and keep the central space as open as possible, while a delicate arched mirror and large shuttered window ensure the room remains light and airy throughout the day.

This configuration not only enhances the feeling of spaciousness but also makes the space functional - ideal for moments of calm or for getting ready before an event.

The mix of brushed brass accents - including the wall-mounted taps, bath mixer and accessories - add a touch of understated glamour whilst the fluted glass pendant and vanity unit tie the scheme together with elegance.”

Design details

A palette of soft, plaster-like tones - anchored by limewash-painted walls - creates a calming backdrop for the space. This is beautifully offset by striking bookmatched marble-effect tiles, with dramatic veining flowing across both the vanity unit and arched alcove. The repeated pattern brings a sense of cohesion and understated luxury, without overpowering the room.

Brushed brass brassware, fittings and accessories introduce a warm, contemporary edge, with coordinated finishes across the wall lights, taps and door handles for a seamless look. Lighting has been carefully layered throughout, with soft globe wall lights and a ceiling pendant offering ambient mood lighting, while a tall arched mirror helps to reflect natural daylight - making getting ready momentsfeel relaxed and effortless.

“Ripples really understood my vision and helped bring it to life with all the

beautiful detail that make the space feel so personal.”

- Rachel Stevens

Textural details, such as the fluted drawer fronts of the vanity unit and the gently curved vessel basin, bring subtle interest while staying true to Rachel’s love of refined simplicity. The arched niche behind the bath adds both beauty and function - creating a standout feature that Rachel enjoys styling, while also offering a practical spot to keep candles and bath products close to hand.

From the colour palette to the mix of materials and bespoke storage, every element of this bathroom has been thoughtfully chosen to reflect Rachel’s signature style - elegant, feminine and quietly luxurious. It strikes the perfect balance between contemporary design and timeless sophistication, capturing her love for interiors that feel warm, inviting and beautifully curated.
