How to Choose Bathroom Tiles

There are so many stunning tiles to choose from for your bathroom, whether you want them for walls or flooring but choosing can be overwhelming! Here are some tips and thoughts from our designers....

LARGE FORMAT

Consider large format tiles as they make a room feel bigger as well as less busy, thanks to fewer grout lines on show - a popular option!

MATERIAL

Porcelain tiles are very easy to clean and maintain offering a smooth surface that stains and liquids do not seep into. Encaustic and natural tiles are a great option for achieving an organic, natural feel in the space and as these are more porus, we provide a protective soloution so that you can keep them looking as good as new!

UNDERFLOOR HEATING

When choosing floor tiles, you may want to introduce underfloor heating, so make sure the tiles are compatible.

SAMPLE YOUR TILES

Natural stone products ranging from marble, travertine and limestone to slate and granite are distinct and unique. You should always view several pieces of the tile that is to be installed before the installation begins.  Since it has been created by nature, not only are no pieces exactly alike, those two pieces may not even be very similar.

MOSAICS

Accents of bright mosaic tiles in tones of green or blue contrast perfectly to luxurious, large marble tiles in lighter shades. Make sure to view a variety of tile shapes, sizes and materials before you make your final decision. Pop into a showroom to get a good idea of what you could have.

GROUTING AND FINISH

Another element to consider for wall and floor tiles is the finish – the colour of the grouting, the space between the tiles can all make a huge difference to the finished look. We love this grey grouting with blush pink tiles in Lily Pebbles' Ripples bathroom.
