Having built their dream home in the country, Louise and Peter had included a master bedroom, dressing area and en-suite but the three separate rooms were lacking in flow and luxury. What they really wanted was an en-suite bathroom that reflected their love of travel, the natural beauty of the woodlands outside and their passion for technology.
To achieve a five-star look, the layout was reconfigured to incorporate the dressing room into the en-suite, creating one large space that now includes a curvaceous freestanding bath, his and hers double countertop basins and hotel-style walk-in wet room.
Louise and Peter had furnished the rest of their home in a soft neutral and grey colour palette so wood-effect floor tiles were chosen to complement. Once the essentials were in place, the wow factor was added with a waterproof flat-screen TV, layers of programmable dimmable lighting, Bluetooth sound system and motion sensor controlled night-light.
Adding another element to the design are the feature mosaic panels, which are flush fit with the surrounding painted plaster finish. Intricate and iridescent, the mosaics bring the scheme together and are carried through to the shower area, where mosaic recesses can be used to store shower gels and shampoo.
