At Ripples, we can also design dream bathrooms for developers, too. In this project, developer Malcolm asked us to create a master en-suite that would appeal to as wide a market as possible, including those with limited mobility.
In order to accommodate every need, a wet room was created with a shower channel that could support a wheelchair with ease. The channel was positioned at the front of the wet area so that the tiles could slope towards the rear. This was not only quicker to install but also kept costs down.
To give the space that all-important wow factor, a polished steel rainshower with fixed ceiling showerhead takes centre stage and as a flexible solution to the shower control, a remote control shower valve means that the new homeowner can install it in a position to suit their needs.
Underfloor heating runs throughout, including beneath the shower floor, which in turn dries the tiles more quickly. A combination of colourful iridescent mosaic tiles and matt grey large format tiles add depth and to complete the brief, a sensor controlled light above the WC creates a soft glow during the night when needed while a timer controlled towel warmer can be set to dry towels.
